**Poisson Distribution in R: (R Tutorial 3.2)**

In this video you will learn how to calculate probabilities for Poisson Random Variables in R.

First, we will introduce the Poisson random variable that was used in this video and its characteristics. Then we will show you how to calculate probabilities for the Poisson distribution in R using the "**ppois**" or "**dpois**" commands.

Then you will learn to find values for the probability density function of X in R using "**dpois**" command and have R return multiple probabilities for the Poisson distribution using the "**dpois**" command.

Later in the tutorial, you will learn to calculate cumulative probabilities for a Poisson distribution using the "**sum**" command, have R return the cumulative probabilities (of equal or smaller than) for a Poisson distribution using the probability distribution function and "**ppois**" command and lower tail probability, or return the cumulative probabilities (of equal or greater than) for a Poisson distribution using the probability distribution function and "**ppois**" command and upper tail probability.

Finally we will show you how to use the "**rpois**" command to take random sample from a Poisson distribution and "**qpois**" command to find quantiles for a Poisson distribution.
